What We are Working On

The reconstruction of the Miramar Theater in San Clemente, CA

This past weekend we found ourselves back in San Clemente, standing across the street from the Miramar Theater. For years it sat in a state of in-between — paused, reconsidered, reimagined. And now, after patience and revision, it has reopened with purpose, carrying its past forward rather than erasing it.

In many ways, this website has followed a similar path.

What began as an idea has gone through its own period of adjustment — experiments that didn’t quite fit, directions that needed rethinking, and lessons learned only by doing. That process wasn’t wasted effort. It was necessary work. Over time, a clearer voice emerged, and with it a rhythm that finally feels right.

Today, this space is no longer under construction — it’s under continuation. We publish new essays weekly, each one shaped by reflection, lived experience, and a growing sense of what belongs here. Like adaptive reuse at its best, this site honors where it started while moving intentionally toward what it’s becoming.

We’re glad you’re here for this next chapter.
