…for running on a nasty, dirt, junior high school track on a Sunday in February between the hours of 3pm and 4pm with the air temp above 80 degrees and with 10% humidity!

I think it is safe to say that no-one in my age group in the entire world has run faster for a mile and for a half-mile than I did this past Sunday. I have proof of how fast I was this day.

The Really Bad Idea

Earlier in the day I had watched the USATF Indoor Championships and I started thinking…I wonder how fast I could run a mile and follow it up with a half-mile. I jumped in the car and drove to the local junior high school track to give it a go. The track is all dirt and loose dirt at that. It was hot and very dry.

The Receipts

The Mile… Given the heat I thought it was best to start with the longer run. You are able to see the results in this screen shot.

The Half-Mile… After a 9 minute rest I ran the half-mile. Sadly, my time was not any faster than the half mile splits for the one mile. I still have work to do.

As always I hope you well and I thank you for spending your time with me.

Peace
